A Pink
Sharp Vintage Transistor Television
Sharp
is right! Have you ever seen such a
gorgeous little TV? And it's a color
TV, no less. It's the Sharp model 3LS36(P) with AC adaptor
stand. Made in March 1986. I guess you'd call this a 4 inch picture,
though
what's visible only measures 3 1/2" diagonally. Can be easily detached
from base and used with 12 volts DC. There's even a TV/Video switch on
the side with Ext In and Monitor Out jacks.
Sharp was still known as Hayakawa Electric in
the late '50s when they made some of the nicest of the early transistor
radios. They made models under the Sharp imprint, and they acted as OEM
for brand names such as Airline (Montgomery Ward), Vanguard, Seminole,
Harpers, Electrovox, Truetone (Western Auto), and most especially
Continental. See my book on Continental transistor radios for some
great examples of these early Sharp radios.
You'll find this TV featured on the cover of
my book Vintage Transistor
Televisions.
